"Eclectus parrots are
gentle, sweet-tempered, undemanding and quiet birds with an excellent
voice-tone quality similar to that of an African Grey."

 Greetings from Manitoba, Canada

|
We are a family run hobby aviary specializing in Eclectus
Parrots, Pionus Parrots, Timneh Greys, Caiques,
Hawk Headed Parrots and Blue Front Amazon. All our birds reside in our smoke-free home. Our
birds are closed banded with traceable AACC bands. We provide a
hatch certificate and a health
guarantee.
My husband, myself and our son, Ryan are the only ones
to enter the breeding room. No one else's birds are allowed in our
home. We do this to avoid the risk of disease. We intentionally
stay at a manageable size so we have the time to give the best care to
our pets, breeders and babies. Our breeding stock is all DNA
disease tested and clean.
Our baby birds are spoon-fed and abundantly
weaned in their own time. They are weaned onto a diet that
consists of a large variety of fresh veggies, sprouts, fruit & cooked
grains supplemented with pellets.
Baby parrots need gentle handling and the initial
socialization by the breeder needs to be followed by proper training and
further socialization by their new owners. Our work provides a
foundation for the baby parrots to develop into confident yet gentle
pets. Please read up on the proper training of baby parrots as
poorly trained birds are no fun.
To check out the baby birds go to the
our aviary link on the side bar.

We highly recommend the following books from Avian
Publications (they ship within Canada):
 |
Sally Blanchard's books, "The Companion
Parrot Handbook" and "The Beak Book" to
help with your parrot training. "Good
Bird! A Guide to Solving Behavioral Problems in Companion Parrots”
by Barbara Heidenreich. |
 |
"The Parrot Problem Solver.
Finding Solutions to Aggressive Behavior" by Barbara
Heidenreich.
|
We allow our baby birds to earn their pilots license
before going to their new homes. Flying produces a healthier bird
with a stronger heart, more self confidence, better coordination and
grace.
Have a look through our web site. If you have
any questions feel free to e-mail us and we will get back to you. info@parrotplace.ca
If you are interested in a baby parrot please first
read the article, 'Life
with a Parrot' and "A
Parrot's Bill of Rights".

Our Goal
 | To raise healthy, abundance weaned and well
socialized baby parrots. To breed a limited number of parrot
species in order to maximize our knowledge and success with them. |
 | To operate with a closed aviary concept for
the health protection of our breeding pairs and their offspring.
|
 | To sell only weaned baby birds that were bred by
us. |
 | To share our knowledge with those who purchase a
baby so they are better able to enjoy their new pet. |
 | To work hard to establish an excellent reputation
for quality birds, honest business dealings and excellent customer
service. |
